Here are answers to some questions our customers
have been asking regarding the New Staff of Life.

When is the new store opening?

We are anticipating an early February opening, check back here for more info as we get closer.

UPDATE - We are looking at a Mid-February opening

Will it be bigger?

Yes. With the new building we are adding about 9000 sq ft., all under one roof!

Will there be more parking?

Definitely. We will have over 100 car spots, with more handicap accessible spots, and charging stations for electric cars!

Are there any consideration for bikes?

For Sure ! More bike racks for parking, air, water, and a bike info board including a map of bike paths in Santa Cruz.

Will it be Handicap accessible?

Yes. Very. The building passes all ADA requirements for accessibility.

Will you be raising prices when you move?

That is NOT the plan. Although we will be adding space, this new building will be more efficient in regards to energy costs as well as labor. With that and some other considerations we will continue to provide our community with the same great healthy food choices at affordable prices.

Will it feel like a big box store?

Our intention is to bring the feel of the current store across the street.

Will you be hiring more people?

At least a few new staff members will be necessary in the new building, however the new layout will allow us to increase the productivity of our current staff.

What new things can I expect?

Outdoor farmers market style produce, community eating space, fresh flowers, coffee/juice/smoothie bar , larger selection in many areas {including- to go food, produce, international foods, and meat/seafood}. We will be bringing the cheese cutting station inside the store. Plus, with air purification,an insulated roof, light harvesting, computer managed energy system, and bio-swales to purify run-off water, we'll be taking care our community and our planet :)
