Giving Back to the Community !!!

We know that you love getting a Sharatoken just as much as we enjoy handing them out.  Every time you bring your own bag and drop a token in the box, 5 cents is donated to our community, and those nickles sure do add up quick.  Below are the figures from 2008 of how much Staff of Life has donated to various charities in Santa Cruz with your help and consciousness. 

8,705 customers gave a token to the Santa Cruz AIDs Project donating $435.25

16,927 customers gave a token to the Women’s Crisis Center donating $846.35

8,709 customers gave a token to the Homeless Education Outreach donating $435.45

4,886 customers gave a token to the S.C. Community Support Services donating $244.30

11,340 customers gave a token to WomenCare donating $567.00

13,605 customers gave a token to the Hospice Caring Project donating $680.25

28,109 customers gave a token to Save Our Shores donating $1,405.45
              ($1000 went directly to funding a beach cleanup!)

9,103 customers gave a token to the Familia Centers donating $455.15

6,387 tokens were given to the CC Center for Independent Living donating $319.35

19,467 customers gave a token to the Second Harvest Food Bank donating $973.37

9,504 customers gave a token to Suicide Prevention Services donating $475.20

12,845 customers gave a token to People Power donating $642.25

Over the last year this program alone has donated $7,479.37 to Santa Cruz County while saving trees, lowering carbon emissions and preventing excess waste.   If we continue to bring our own bags and stop using paper and plastic, we can give our community the resources it needs to prosper while helping our environment.  Thank you for contributing your efforts to assist us in this endeavor.
